Sautéed Greens with Toasted Pine Nuts

  • 1/4 cup pine nuts

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 bunch greens, chopped with center stems removed discarded

  • A good splash of balsamic vinegar

  • Salt and pepper to taste


Toast the pine nuts until just brown by heating them in a large dry sauté pan over high to medium-high heat, stirring frequently.  Remove from pan and set aside.

Sauté garlic in olive oil.

Add the greens and sauté until just wilted.

Increase the heat and add  the balsamic vinegar, cook off liquid.

Remove from heat and add the nuts, salt and pepper.
