BBQ Sauce

With July 4th right around the corner there is sure to be some BBQing in the mix. What ever you're grilling a tasty sauce can make your meal. Here is a simple recipe that does not involve cooking the sauce, so it can be made quickly. The substitution of the tomato paste for tomato sauce gives it a rich 'slow cooked' flavor.
Ingredients
Wet ingredients:
1 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup ketchup
1/8 cup tomato paste
1/8 cup water or flat beer
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon or orange juice (lemon for tangy and orange for a sweeter sauce)
2 tablespoons dark molasses or honey (the honey provide a more delicate flavor)
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar (for an extra kick try Darkhorse Whisky Smoked Brown Sugar)
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons prepared mustard (I use a stone ground mustard)
Dry ingredients:
1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons onion powder or freeze-dried onions ground
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder or freeze-dried garlic ground
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper (optional)
Salt (to taste)
Mix together all wet ingredients well, taste and add any additional sweetener or vinegar if desired.
Add in the dry ingredients one at a time, being sure to incorporate each one well before adding the next.
You know what to do next...
