Giving Back

Supporting the people, projects, and organizations that make Sonoma County stronger.

Community Market has been part of Sonoma County for over 50 years. As a worker-run, not-for-profit grocery store, giving back to our community is built into how we operate and how we show up. We support local organizations, schools, nonprofits, and community groups through donations, event support, in-store fundraising, and collaboration.

Our goal is to help strengthen the networks that care for people, food access, the arts, education, health, and the environment.
Community support looks different for every organization. While we are not able to support every request we receive, we are grateful for so many groups working to make our community more connected and resilient.

How We Give Back

Community Market supports our community in a variety of ways, both inside and outside our stores. These efforts are shaped by our mission, our capacity, and the needs of the community.

Our community support includes:
  • Product and gift card donations
  • Support for local fundraisers and events
  • In-store fundraising programs
  • Partnerships with local organizations
  • Space for community information and outreach
This work is ongoing and evolves as our community grows and changes.

Community Fundraising

We offer in-store fundraising opportunities that allow customers to support local organizations while shopping at Community Market.

These programs are designed to make giving easy and accessible, and to keep dollars circulating locally.

Current fundraising programs include:

  • Change 4 Change
  • Community board and digital promotion
  • Occasional event based fundraisers

Participation and availability vary by location and timing.

Community Partnerships

Some of our community relationships are ongoing partnerships built around shared values, collaboration, and long-term connection.

To learn more about the organizations we currently partner with, visit our Partnerships page.
